"A local company takes an environmental approach to the need for masks in the fight against COVID-19," states Alexandra Pinto, Anchor & Producer.

"This is reusable, washable, reversible, and eco-friendly," says Niki Gilmour, Founder & CEO of Day Dreamer Accessories.

"You'll never guess what this mask is actually made of. The black masks are actually green!" - Alexandra Pinto.

"It's the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and a local company is combining the need for masks with the need to protect the environment."

"Wearing a mask doesn't mean you're paranoid, it just means you care about other people and want to help stop the spread. And if you wear a Dream Mask, it means you care about other people and you care about the planet." - Niki Gilmour.

"Waterloo-based company Day Dreamer Accessories has created The Dream Mask made from bamboo and a material called Repreve®, it's fabricated from 100% recycled materials including broken down plastic bottles," adds Pinto.

"The company originally sourced the eco-material for a travel accessory, but since the pandemic has grounded the majority of flights, they decided to switch to non-medical grade face masks," concluded Max Wark, Video Reporter.
